Meet the Gals

We at the Pinup Guru are  here to “Give your Life Some Vintage Spice”.

Angelica Lontok – Owner of the Pinup Guru and Poppin Pinup Photography

My motto has always been that if someone else could do it, I could do it to.

I started the Pinup Guru because of my passion for fashion and my love of vintage. People have always told me that I have an old soul. I have always preferred to listen to Elvis and Frank as opposed to modern top 20s music. When I stumbled across swing dancing 5 years ago, I was asked to be apart of a Pin-up Calendar from there the rest is history. I fell in love with Pinup hair, makeup, photography but most of all the FASHION.

I am a vintage stylist who is here to teach you how to achieve the perfect Vintage and Pinup look.

I have styled calendars, fashion shows and everyday women who want to stand out from the crowd in a classic and stunning way.

Angelica is also a Pinup/vintage  Model, Spokesperson, Newsletter Editor for the Fashion Industry Association, Vintage stylist and Pinup How to GuRu!

Corinne Foreman – Classic Movie Reviewer.

My father always said I was born in the wrong decade. As a teenager, I would listen to Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Carol Channing and Rodgers & Hammerstein. I would swing dance and watch TCM rather than MTV. I love human history – movies, hairstyles, fashion, entertainment, etc. I love dance styles from the 20′s-50′s, and music and movies from all generations. They don’t make movies like they used to and I love to introduce others to the especially amazing (though lesser-known) films from the 30′s, 40′s and 50′s!

Valerie Schein - Sweets and Soirees

All of my fondest memories from my childhood revolve around my mother and grandmother either cooking up a storm in the kitchen or single-handedly preparing and entertaining for a house full of hungry guests. I think those memories are what make baking from scratch and planning dinner gatherings so enjoyable for me – the sounds, the smells, and the smiles when friends and family fall hopelessly in love with your cooking! I gravitate towards classic old cookbooks and Emily Post’s rules of etiquette when it comes to cooking and entertaining, but I also have a lot of fun making up my own rules and recipes. My family raves about my cupcakes, apple pie and tiramisu, but you better believe I’ve had my fair share of burnt sugar cookies and kitchen fires. I promise, no dish can go so badly that a cute vintage apron and a nice glass of wine can’t make it all better! So check in with me once a week for the behind-the-scenes secrets (and bloopers)of a classic hostess.By day Valerie works as a public relations professional.

Arianna Leigh Blackwell- kelly - The Kitschy Kitchen

At a very young age Arianna was instilled with a fascination of and appreciation for the past. As a child she preferred classical films to cartoons and the twang of a pedal steel to the scream of an electric guitar. As she grew, she found herself drawn more and more towards the design, fashion and music of the mid 50s to mid 60s. Today, this is reflected in every aspect of her personal style.
Arianna is currently pursuing a degree in Integrated Science Education for Middle Grades and works as a printer and designer for Dead On Screenprinting, a home-based company created by she and her fiance.
In her free time Arianna dabbles in modeling, swing dancing and playing/singing in local bands. She enjoys thrifting, road tripping, hanging out with her pet chickens, working in her garden and cooking.

Emily Givens – Vintage Foreign Corespondent

This redheaded retro mamma is currently traveling through Europe studying and conquering the world.
Along the way she is sending vintage love packages to Pinup Guru for all lovers of things old and wonderful.
Emily has been rockin’ the retro tendencies since she learned to do a soft shoe outside the music store in the mall when she was three. Through the Cinderella, Dorothy, and Shirley Temple phases of childhood, she developed a passionate love for “Rat Pack” era and all the lovely years before it. Though swing dancing was not discovered till adulthood, wanting to dance like Ginger and sing like Ella was always at the forefront.
Her interests include dabbing with a mike, jivin’, traveling, thrift-store shopping, sewing, and simply loving life!
To contact her for tips of vintage gems to visit or questions email esgivens@mail.usf.edu.
